Nothing says Christmas like a children’s choir…unless it’s a children’s choir plus the East Coast’s grooviest jazz act. At Chaise Lounge’s annual Christmas show, the acclaimed sextet—fresh from tours in California and Wisconsin—will be joined by the North Chevy Chase Elementary School Holiday Glee Club and other delights of the season. With its signature mix of cheeky wit and retro-lounge cool, Chaise Lounge will bring hip holiday cheer to the historic Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club.
A Real-Life Mambo This Saturday, March 1, at 4:30 pm, Chaise Lounge plays a free, hourlong concert as part of the annual Intersections arts festival at DC’s historic Atlas Theater. In keeping with the festival’s theme, we’ll “intersect” with another arts group to accompany a dance piece created for our song “Mambo Noir.” The piece, choreographed by Christopher Doyle, will feature Sam Rodriguez and Sophie Doyle, members of the Maryland Youth Ballet studio company. We would love for you to see the results of this first-time collaboration! Stick around afterwards to hear Charlie and other festival composers in a “Composer Conversation.” Though the event is free, tickets are required. You can snag yours here.
Musical styles are colliding and combining… Louis Prima, New Orleans funk, middle-age hipster story songs, zydeco, sub-latin this and that, Carribbean, Dixie Trad – the vortex is narrowing, time is slowing down…
Walk towards the light. Come see Chaise Lounge with Paul Cebar’s Tomorrow Sound Fri Jan 24 8pm at Creative Alliance at the Patterson. But hurry, tickets are evaporating from the white hot heat of expectation…
Hey Eastern PA peeps – Chaise Lounge will be playing two shows at 8 and 10 at Chris’ in Philly next Saturday, January 11. Come on out and enjoy a musical martini with us!
